…in 1967 the BBC first transmitted a colour television signal (on BBC 2, from the Wimbledon lawn tennis championships as it happens). The BBC 2 full colour service subsequently commenced on December the 2nd, 1967. BBC One and ITV started colour transmissions on November the 15th, 1969. More recently, in 2008, the BBC began experimenting with live streaming of certain channels in the UK, and since November 2008, all standard BBC television channels are now available to watch online. |
