This page shows some of the portable amateur radio activites I have undertaken either as a solo venture or with friends. The fun part is getting out in the fresh air and experimenting with antennas - usually simple wire affairs but at times more complex.

Elevation helps so more often than not you’ll find this kind of activity involves a trip to a hilltop somewhere where even running low power from battery packs is no obstacle to making plenty of contacts.
